Today has been a day with hope and anticipation. Eli has been on a conventional respirator since 8:30 am and so far is doing well. Some of his medications have been reduced, and he is not as sedated which has provided Lys and Ted moments of joy as they has seen him make faces, wiggle, try to open his eyes and even make sleepy smiles. The nurses have even allowed mom to change a diaper and take Eli's temperature. These small events have been a HUGE encouragement to Lys and fill her with hope that her empty, aching arms will someday soon embrace her little son.

Eli's numbers are looking REALLY good. We're so happy! Time will tell, but he's made some huge improvements today! Even the nurses/Dr's say so. Keep praying!
