A Better Report

This Thursday morning is a welcome breath of fresh air after a hard Wednesday. Eli's blood pressure medication was able to be lowered overnight as well as his oxygen levels! The doctors are hopeful he will remain stable as they continue to look toward switching him to the conventional ventilator, which is the next goal in his treatment. Doing so will allow more tests, more answers, and bring him that much closer to the road to recovery.

We are happy to report 2 poopy diapers since yesterday, which is an indication his digestive system is functioning! Lys is ecstatic, as only a parent can relate, that her son has finally pooped!!

(this from Nana, Lys' mom)
Lys says Eli's looks are changing, especially as he has become warm and pink.  He looks like Mom, but has Dad's nose.  The nurses at the hospital told us this just after birth as well.  His hands and feet are all boy and he has a big toe that looks like Ted's big toe, and according to Lys, his baby toe is shaped like hers.  As you can see from the picture, Eli comes with a full head of hair and somewhat of a fuzzy body.  Lys said he already needs a hair cut, and Eli's mom declares him very cute!
